Eleventh eVOC Newsletter published – May 2022

In the May issue of our Newsletter, the Challenge Call for Decarbonisation of the Economy and Depollution of the Environment was presented with an aim at removing some of the biggest identified obstacles to green transformation and decarbonisation of the public and corporate sector. The Call consists of two LOTs. The first LOT for decarbonisation of the economy with the primary objective to reduce GHG emissions in both EU ETS sectors: electricity and heat generation, energy-intensive industry sectors including oil refineries, steelworks, and production of iron, aluminium, metals, cement, lime, glass, ceramics, pulp, paper, cardboard, acids and bulk organic chemicals and non-ETS sector such as transport, buildings, agriculture, waste, etc. The second LOT for pollution reduction of IPPC operators (falling under the Industrial Emissions Directive), through investments in the application of the best available technologies to pursue a clean technology transition and better resource efficiency.

The call was announced by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Serbia with the support of the European Union, and in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

In addition to the new ones, we reminded you of the programs that are still open with certain changes and which we presented in some of the previous issues.

This is the eleventh in a series of Newsletters of the eVOC Serbia project dedicated to this segment of support to VOC operators, and we hope that in this way we will provide assistance and offer answers of interest.
