The Third Leaflet of the eVOC Serbia Project

This leaflet is a little different from the previous ones because it is intended for everyone and not primarily for VOC operators and deals with the quality of indoor air in our homes, offices and all places where we spend time.

When we talk about air quality, we usually think about preventing outdoor air pollution. However, indoor air quality is equally important, especially considering how much time we spend indoors. The quality of the air we breathe in our homes depends to a large extent on us. The concentration of volatile organic compounds, studies show, can be 2 to 5 times higher indoors than outdoors, and sometimes the values are far higher. These concentrations of VOC compounds can affect the health of the household members, especially the most sensitive ones.

From bathroom cleaning to lighting scented candles in the living room, numerous VOCs are “hidden” in our homes. With this leaflet, we tried to raise awareness of the actions that most of us unconsciously repeat, without taking into account that it affects the air quality in the house.

The leaflet is part of the campaign for raising public awareness and knowledge about VOCs and their impact on the environment and human health, which is being implemented within the eVOC Serbia project. This is just one of the activities of our Project, which is being implemented with the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade with the aim of achieving environmental and VOC emission standards.
