eVOC Serbia Project Supports the “Tech Case Study 2021” Competition
eVOC Serbia Project and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade support this year’s competition for students of final years of high schools, entitled “Tech Case Study 2021”. The motto of this year’s competition is “Test Your Engineering Skills”. This is the third year that the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the Belgrade University has organised this competition, at the initiative of the Students’ Parliament of the Faculty and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
The purpose of the “Tech Case Study” competition is to get the students of high schools from all over Serbia acquainted with the tasks of a chemical engineer, and to give them a chance to test their engineering knowledge on realistic problems from the field of environment and sustainable development.
We hereby invite all high school students and their teachers to apply, via the following link, by 23 April at noon, to take part in the competition, which will have three stages. In the first stage, on 24 April 2021, there will be a set of introductory lectures and workshops for all competitors, after which the teams will be given the case study. The teams are to send their preliminary solutions by 28 April 2021. The top-ranking teams, those who have submitted the most creative solutions for the given case study, as evaluated by an expert panel, will qualify for the finals. Ten to fifteen of the best teams will then compete in front of an expert committee at the final competition on Wednesday, 12 May, starting at 11 a.m., at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade.
Since the competition received a lot of interest from the audiences last year, and bearing in mind the specific circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, the final competition will be streamed through social networks, to allow the widest possible audience to watch the competition and vote for their favourites online. The three top teams that come up with the most inventive solutions in the finals, using their knowledge on sustainable development, will win valuable prizes prepared by the Faculty and the eVOC Serbia Project. We invite everyone to apply! See you in the finals!
