Sixth sector-specific capacity building workshop of the eVOC Serbia project held, for the representatives of the wood and plastic lamination as well as adhesives coating sector, and environment inspectors
Within the Project “Further Implementation of EU Regulation on Volatile Organic Compounds – eVOC Serbia”, a workshop entitled “VOC management and obligations of the operators of the wood and plastic lamination and adhesive coating industry sector (Activities 15 and 16)” was held. The workshop for the identified representatives of the industry in these sectors as well as for the representatives of environment inspection at all levels, was held on Friday, February 18, 2022, via Zoom platform in a form of a webinar. This is the sixth sector-specific workshop in a series, with an aim to present the regulatory framework for the control of volatile organic compounds emissions and their reduction schemes.
After the introductory speech of Ms. Vanja Vukasinovic, representing the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Elena Jankovic, expert of the eVOC Serbia project, presented the basic legal requirements for VOC operators.
International technical expert of the eVOC Serbia Project, Dr. Richard Schlachta, analysed in detail sources of VOC emissions arising from these sectors, and presented examples of solvent mass balance method for estimating VOC emissions pertaining to activities 15 and 16. The last segment of the lecture was dedicated to the presentation of the best available techniques (BAT) for reducing emissions of VOC from these sectors.
The invitation of the eVOC Serbia Project was accepted by the representatives of inspection at all levels, from the national and province inspectors to local inspectors, as well as representatives of producers working in this field.
